I like # 2, the calm, isolatedblades of grass against the turbulent sky (it may be the river but it appears as sky.) A strong image. I think in #1 you were trying to portray the tonal gradation in the water which is beautifulbut the photo doesn't work for me because of the strong horizontal structure of the boulders in the water which seems to demand a horizontal format. You almost have two photos in one.

you read through me, thats exactly what i thought when i took the 2nd pic!

as for no.1, i was trying to show the calmness of the water before it reaches the rough area at the boulders but u're right, maybe i should try a horizontal pic.
