First of all I am no expert at all. I am just learning myself. I am going to venture out and critique your photo because I need to learn from it. My friend is due in about three weeks and wants me to take newborn pictures for her. So here it goes. The only thing I see is it seems a little noisy to me. The babies eyes don't seem to be sharp. And I don't know if it is the picture or if it is my screen. Other than that I really like the photo.

I like the shot for the emotional content. Babies naturally make for good pictures. I kind of like the wrinkles in the forehead, makes me want to add a funny caption about being worried. The only technical flaw I would correct is the burned-out highlights on the white shirt.
