Hi All,

This is one of my 1st lighting studio setup I did last year. One kid portrait came out like this as I intentionally used the strobe to flood into the white backdrop to get the hi-key effect.

Any commentsor critiques arewelcomed.

Thanks and regards,

Quan

hi I think you have done a great job, I like it very much, you could trypaint with light if you want to darken it a touch, but I think its lovely as it is, well done.

I agree with Alex a wonderfull effort, i wouldIMO try and burn in the left hand a touch to match the rest of the baby. Kind regards. Graham

Hi,

Really like it however there are a couple of things that I cant help but notice... Dont really like the way that you can't see the left arm and also the childs back almost disappears. If you can get some definition around those two areas you definately have a winner.

However saying that, i also think that you should use that childs bright blue eyes more... i think in your high key environment they would really pop!

It hurts my eye too (Agreeed with wram) .I feel it is bit too high for my liking.Basically I love the child picture in softer tone.High fashion picture in high key.(Bit traditional in taste)

Yes it does appear to have a glare to it, although a print

might reduce the glare that we get on the screen.

It's worthwile Experimenting with backgrounds.

I have made two versions very roughly done to

show up the difference between light and darker backgrounds.

I don't know if you know what hi-key is, but its not cutting the child out and putting it into another background, what quan tran done is a very good hi-key effect for the first time try, if he ment to put the baby into a blue background or any other background if it comes to that, he would have shot the photo a different way I am sure.
