I am still getting to grips with cropping, should this one be cropped more - particularly the left side? I left the up-turned wooden feeder in, but not sure if I should?

Hi dumfriesdick,

In regard to the question about the cropping I'd suspect that it wouldn't hurt to crop off the left of the shot a bit. The sheep don't appear centered in the shot. In my opninion the feeder does distract from the sheep - especially the portion where the 2x6" peices of the frame from the feeder project out behind the one sheep's head - it kind of looks like that sheep has to right ears or something.

you are right about the wood and ears. i was kind of restricted by a hedge and gate. you are also right about the lambs not being centre, i had not noticed, thank you.

i think a lo angle and letting the wood lead up into the top left corner of the frame could have worked.

if something is there is the backing and its not really possible to distorot it witha shallow dof to the point of not being distracting i would use it as part of my composition.
