I'm going to sound very negative here but to me I can't see anything special in these shots so will try to help.

When shooting statues, stationary items you really need to be creative and find new and interesting angle that people don't usually see the objects from, as it is these are generally how Joe Public would see the scene from so that does not add interest.

Suggestions to play around with are (not necessarily to be done at the same time):

Get low

Get high

Get close and focus on a specific area

Separate out the background (not easy with a P&S but don't you havea D80 as well?) with a wide aperture.

Consider composition (rule of 3rds etc)

Thanks for viewing and the comments, the D80 wouldn't fit in my

pocket on that ocassion hence the handyness of the point and shoot

fuji, when every shot doesn't have to be special, just not shaken and stirred

a lot........ :-)..............musket


p.s nothing really exciting except maybe a stag at the window

being startled by flying saucers :-)
