Thank you Bill! I'll give that a try. And ohhh I see now DF, that is a good point. I'm not too big a fan of cropping, though, I understand all the reasons for it and all. I prefer to crop only if theres something that absolutely can't be in the foto and can't be removed by other means. ^^ In this case, I think I'll reshoot, but I'm gonna change it up a little, brainstorm in my head right now!

just a suggestion, in stopping darkness would it be better if, 1. the hand had no shadows on it(high contrast between hand and dark indicating opposition)2. the hand merged into the shadow/darkness but the might be better in #2 pic taking darkness.
