I love lion picture, they represent power, authority and regal. But in real life they are plain dud. They fight only once to prove his power after that It is lioness whichunts for food and tend the cub,Lion just sleep and eat most of the time. But his authority last hardly for few year till somebody more stonger than him , comes and outthrow him, captures whatever he owns,End is more tragic.wothout food and support they dies very quickly.
Now this beast is more or less protected. He will last longer, I think.
This yawning lion also seems to be very ferocious to me.Well timed capture Bob

It'd been over twenty years sice we've been to the African Lion Safari in Cambridge and even longer since we went to the one in Hemmingford, Quebec. I guess Cambridge is too close to Toronto to be considered for a trip!

Here are a couple from the Toronto Zoo on Tuesday.

I'm not really happy with the Tiger shot, it was handheld at 300mm with my 70-300 Sigma, you can see the softness in the image. The contrast in the scene was captured pretty well though, at least I think so.

All captured with Nikon D80 and either Sigma 70-300 Macro II or Sigma 105 f2.8 macro.

By the way, how does a guy from Idaho know about African Lion Safari??

Cheers,

SG

Yeah, it looks ridiculous here as it came on the board way too big. When seen smaller it looks really cool. I have not gotten the hang of posting images on this board just yet.

My 2yr old daughter is in love with Elephants and I like to print a few of these out for her to look at each day.

It was hard to get a good shot of the elephants at the Zoo though, as you have noticed, the wires and cages and windows do present a challenge to getting a good shot.

Thanks

SG
