There's no right answer for cropping.A panel of viewers presented with such a selection would produce many different rankings of different crops, and quite possibly do it differently again. This thread could go on indefinitely!

I often produce & save a selection of crops from favourite images, and then come back another time to produce one that I then think beats the lot.

If forced to choose, I'll save the original, a crop that shows the context, and a more concentrated view that has the best composition I can manage.

So NEVER lose the original.

On this image, I'd experiment until you like it yourself, and keep all ones that please you a bit. The elements I'd wish to preserve of this memorable imageare...

...balance between beach & sky, so the patterns of tonemirror to some degree....

...the length of the pier, so wider rather than higher.
