What do you think of the composition?

Sony alpha, 50mm f/1.7, 1/30sec @ f/1.7

What does it make you think of (for a title)?

is it an oneiromantic plant? why is it what dreams are made of if not?

*i like the picture though, but you could probably play with the curves tool in photoshop to adjust the levels so its a little more dramatic and not so soft like in the middle of the flower.

Thanks. I will try to adjust the curves to create more drama. Dreams? The shallow DOF makes me think this shot is a bit dreamy. It's a cactus plant.

I thought that looked familiar. What kind of cactus is that from? I just recently got a giant san pedro from the botanical gardens.

*i understand what you mean by the softness, and yeah i agree. try out adjusting the levels though and see which you prefer

It's a Selenicereus. They come out all the time in hotter regions. Just in Toronto, it only blooms every couple of years

I've been told once that flora judges immediately dismiss flowers that are imperfect.
