when i submitted this photo to a stock photo sales company they refused it saying it was poorly lit, well, for 1 i don't have the capability to properly light it as i dont have a flash and 2, it's supposed to have the darker feeling to it, I think they go by "rules of photography" too much buttell me what you think!

First of all, while it may be old, its not necessarily a classic (see Ford Falcon).
Rust spots don't add to the photo's appeal
Not sure why "dark" is better than well lit, but, its your photo after all
The angle and background don't do anything for me.
Just looks like a rather awkward "grab shot".

But, then, that's just my opinion.

thanks for the criti, not that dark is better than well lit, but it changes the feel of the photo, and I feel this goes better as a darker photo, theres really nothingI can do about the rust spots it was just a car I saw on the street. the shot was hard to get as there was another vehicle parked close to the front. can you take a similar photo and show me what you believe would look better? thanks again! I like it, it's rather gritty and nicely composed. I could imagine a bottle of Bud or something on the right as an advert.

Yeah the background isn't that exciting, I might have re-composed to get rid of that blue thing (billboard?) on the left and duo-toned it, but it's still nice.

Duely noted. blue building, i just liked the leaves and the way the train tracks run with the side of the car and the brick cement stuff
