Hey All,
Quite a drery day in Dallas Texas today, cloudy and wet, nothing to shoot except some pigeons on a telephone wire. I did some post processing and came up with the second pic, I think it looks more creative and better, how do you guys feel about editing photos too much?

Nice idea. If you clone out the trees, it could almost pass for art.

I agree about getting rid of the tree limb, and disagree with the phrase, "editing photos too much."

Well, I mostly disagree. The only time you end up editing too much is when you make the image worse than it was to start with. (But whose judgement do you go by in determining whether it's worse?)

I think the second pic is a considerable improvement over the first. I also think that many people are too quick to throw out less-than-optimum shots. An embarrassing % of mine fall into this category, and I've found that most of them can be made at least somewhat interesting through heavy-handed editing. The more ho-hum the shot, the more radical you might have to get.

If you have the time and inclination, it can be a good exercise in creativity to take a few of the shots that you would ordinarily delete and hit them over the head with your editing software. Some of them might even be promoted to "keepers!"

Yeah. If it weren't for photoshop, I might never produce a keeper!
