I saw this lady gazing out a window of an old building in Jerome, AZ and wanted a good picture of her. Appreciate advice on how to improve the shot.

The shot needs greater dynamic range. You can probably post-process the image in PS to increase the contrast and brightness within the window. But, in the future and if you are using a tripod, you might want to take two photos -- one like you have, where the wall is properly exposed, and another where you can see through the window better. Then, combine the two photos in PS later.
