I like the playfullness of the shots. But they're all on the soft side. How much did you crop these images, if at all? What focus (one shot, ai-servo)? and which focus points were used. Where was your focus on?

The most important part of the image to be sharp is the dog's eyes.

Perhaps some USM can help if it hasn't already been applied.

Photos all taken with Sigma 70-300mm APO DG Zoom handheld at a focal length of 300m. and all ISO 400 and AI focus

No cropping or processing straight from the camera as Jpegs just the size reduced for the forum.

2270e 1/400 F7.1 focus points right eye right leg

2271e 1/500 F8.0 focus points left ear, corner of mouth ,left shoulder

2272e 1/500 F8.0 focus points 3 points around the face.
