Well thanks for the reminder. My other Playing With Matches post is dedicated to you Neil.

As for how I got the magenta color in the smoke Cali....same way I got the yellow color in....Photoshop.This is actually a composite of 6 photos. 2 photos for the smoke (each color), 1 for the match, and 3 for the flame. The smoke only happens after the match is blown out.

Your genuine creativity in it reminded me that ofthe smoke seriesby another reallycreative mate, Crawford, who's been missing here sincea long timeago, beforeeven youjoined...

Btw,aboostof exposure byone stop (or a little less)at PS, wouldn't hurt, IMO ; )

Thanks Bynx :G Have ever tried Inscent sticks the smoke for longer and with a tap the smoke goes in all sort of shapes.

Thanks Bahadir. I intend to explore smoke shooting some more. I like the folds and curves of the smoke trails but havent had much luck in the sources Im using for it. Tried bamboo skewers, I bummed a cigarette from a neighbor, tried buring paper, and I used an incense stick but I cant locate an incense cone. The best results Ive had so far is a book of matches. I think a cone would give more smoke. Thanks for your info on getting interesting patterns Neil. Im going out today to get some incense cones and give it a try. Wish me luck.
