I tried to capture the beauty of the cherry blossom, and a well know landmark, together....in the same frame, sorta like killing two stones with one bird, if you get my drift.

Well......let me have it :homey:

Hi Eddie

Well I like it. Something quite different... and I think it represents a good idea. Very much the "spring feeling" with those lovely signs of spring.

The tower almost "emerges" from the cherry blossoms magically. "Mankind's achievements always spring from what nature gives us?" type of thinking perhaps..?

Good composition and exposure. Maybe it looks a bit soft (is this a crop?) I took the liberty of doing a 30 second edit... hope that's ok.

PS... I don't know this landmark. Where is it? What country and city?

Paul

Compositionwise, filling the frame isa merit whichreally shines, and yours is a worty attempt, imoPaul also did a good job above clearing thenoise!

Still, I guess attaininga dimentional look throughsome pseudo-shallow DOF and meanwhile a less distractive tower would work here! Well, I'd place the tower a bit more to righthandside of the frame..Butanyway (I cropped off slightly from the left border for the sake of a bit more 'filling the frame' and less 'centered look'instead) : )

Thanks for your input guys....appreciated :G

Paul, it's the Space Needle in Seattle Washington. It was built for the World's Fair back in the 60's I think.

Here is another shot showing it's under-structure more.

The space needle was built for the 1962 Worlds Fair and was even in a movie of the same name staring Elvis.

I always like using DOF to get a subject to stand out whenever it's possible to do so. Though in this case (first shot) I like seeing both in focus, the two subjects seem to complement each other, making a very complete picture. Or maybe I just like the space needleafter seeing it on TV and in movies back when I was a kid and yes I was a kid once.
