Canada Day was created to "celebrate the anniversary of the confederation of Canada". We are 141 years old this year and in my small city we have a "small" fireworks celebration (nothing compared to the July 4 fireworks we will see tonight from our twin city on the other side of the river - who btw has a population about 1/4 of ours) Americans are MUCH more patriotic! Anyway enough of my ranting, these were taken while bobbing around on the river in a skiboat so I couldn't get the long trails like if I had been able to use a tripod on land. However any critiques or comments appreciated.

The arches of lights in the background is the International Bridge connecting Canada to the USA over the St. Mary's River.

Thanks

JW

Like the fireworks and water reflections. The water gives the picture more to see...

I like your pics very much. Better than I took last year using a tripod.

Very nice! I really like the reflection in the river, it makes these very interesting.

Considering the shooting conditions, those are very good.If you get another chance try toshoot portrait instead of landscape. That way you could show more of the reflection in your compostion. As it is there is a lot of darkness on the sides that doesn't add to the image.

Thanks for all the great comments.

I did take a lot in potrait but they didn't come out as sharp, and you don't see much more of the reflection because I would get the bow of the boat in the frame. I attached the best potrait.

I appreciate all the viewings and comments.

Thanks

You didn't get a lot of reflection in the shot but you got a lot of sky with fireworks! I like the composition a lot. It's very dramatic.
