So, that's been a detour to therealm of sculptures, Matthew...which always appeals to me!! In the first place good choice of b&w toemphasize thetexture..I do not think they would allow flash in such a display, which leaves more than enough roomtothe photographer to make use of the 'sometimes modelling and sometimes dispersing' light shadeinterplay of the available light condition, anyway ; ) I should also add you attained somereally good point of view such as in #2 and #4!

You are correct in saying that flash was not allowed.

I like them all, the b&w really goes with your subject matter and I love the lighting - it gives the pictures so much feel of shape (don't know how to describe it, I'm not an artist). I love the angle in #4 - can't decide if I would like it better with less or more DOF (I probably would have tried it both ways also, just tosee what they looked like). Since neither speaks to me, it must be right the way you shot it.
