Thanks.

That was shot using my Tamron 17-50/2.8. There aren't many times when I wish I had something wider, but this was one of them. But then, if I had something wider, it probably wouldn't be with me when I would want it.

So I guess my choices are:

  1. Wish I had one. [/*]
  2. Wish I had brought it with me.[/*]
Choice #1 is cheaper.

I know you were happy to see Hanna leave. Now we are watching Ike down here.

Nice shot... Robert

I actually did ok. Two quick power outages, but I have UPSs on everything. Some towns around here got 6 inches of rain in a hour. There were 36 accidents on I-95, with only one fatality. Stupid SUV drivers think they can drive through anything and end up plowing into something, usually somebody else. The fatality was the driver of an SUV that slid off the road and into a tree. A child passenger was severely injured. Some kid got to watch his father die because he was stupid.

Glad to hear you did alright. I know what you mean about stupid people. We were told, in 2004, to get off the beach as Ivan approached. Most did, some didn't. The ones who didn't were lighting up the 911 switchboard at the height of the storm, wanting to be rescued. They were told they were on their own until it was safe enough for the first responders to get out. You have to hope they learned something from that experience, but maybe not. Darwin may have been right... Robert

True enough, but it's the ones who continually tempt fate that eventually make the roster

Actually, my thinking is that the people that only tempt fate once, but do it in a big way, are the ones that make the roster. All those kids that grew up with bicycle helmets and knee pads don't know what it's like to get hurt, so they go in for extreme sports. They'll make the roster some day.

There was a nice, quiet kid in this area that wanted to try bungy jumping. He bought 80 feet of bungy cords, tied them all together, and used them to jump off a 70 foot high railroad bridge. He made the roster.
