In the first shot it looks like that white calcium? deposit has flowed down almost covering that small building. Is there some story about the white stuff?

Bynx, it is calcium deposits. See comments from Bahadir on my Pamukale 2 thread. I would attach a link if I could work out how to do it!:?

Malinstreak, these are wonderful pictures. Number 3 is my favorite!

May I ask what camera and lens did you use for them?

Great job!

Thanks artmustel. I have a Canon 40D with an EF-S 17-85 IS lens and an EF 70-300 IS lens. It's a great camera and as soon as I've paid for it I will start adding more lenses!

Very nice series with images of generous size displaying parts of the once highly renowned ancient cityI remember your sending the amphitheater in your recent post of 'Hieropolis, the amphitheater'.

Thesarcophagi in the first picture makes me think about the people desperately coming here for an ultimateremedy from far far away, some of whose tombs now remains here observable in the necropolis...

Btw, again, out of my appreciation for the original, I couldn't help butdo a pseudo-hdr job and then tweaked the sky using the blue channel of the hue/saturation toolon the third picture, which isoftrivial importance for the whole work: )
