I took this photo in a spot I used to go swimming as a kid on hot summer days. Its a bit of a hike from my parents home - but thought I would get out there now that the mosquitoes are gone. Taken with Rebel XTi and kit 18-55

I like to texture and the way the water falls looks, but need some help to get the colour right. Seems over exposed in the rock, I played with it a bit in iPhoto but could not get it to look quite right.

Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks,

JW

Here's a larger version - lower quality jpeg.

I tried it as a B&W and I kinda like that version also.

Thanks again!

It's one of those personal taste things but I've tried it witha little contrast boost, a little more colour (if you're going the colour route) and a little more sharpness.

Here's my 2 minute effort with a border to increase the impact.

Appealing texture which is worth your trouble, indeed : ) Good effort from malinstreak, btwI'd suggest atouch ofhighlight adjustment or 'burn tool' for the rocks at PS, though.

Below is my take in which I applied some quick 'freeverse' pseudohdr :-)And then I opened it at PS for colour correction using the eye dropper tool of the Levels..Hope makes sense : )

malinstreak and bahadir - both redos look great. I appreciate the effort and time. I need to practice PS and learn the ins and outs of the software. Trial and error is the way to go.

I really like this spot and think I will be visiting it again to try it in different lights to see how the sun and shadows change the look. I will bring the tripod even though its a rough hike into the ravine to get to the water - but noone said photography was easy.

Thanks again for the help.
