I like the first idea (I like creative ideas), although the thing that really bothered me was the "bad shot" description. I won't say this is a bad shot, as there is a very fine and accentuated structure/color in the flower. You just can't get everything with the limited dynamic range of a dSLR or digicam.

I tried a "conventional" approach on the image to see what's really in there, and came up with this one (before/after comparison). With the original RAW imageeven more will be possible, but you already know this

Regards,
Th.

Very good tnkn777. You have pulled up the colors nicely and given it a good sharp look. There was that purple fringe on the original running all around the flower. I just wasnt satisfied with the whole picture so thats why I tried a new plug in I have. I was glad for the opportunity to try to do something with an otherwise plain old shot of a flower. I rather liked the moodiness of the first and the eroticism of second. Thanks for taking the time.

Id appreciate any criticism on this experiment in trying to fix a bad shot. Did it work for you or not?
Hey Bynx,
I don't have any criticism but, I believe your flower is a Petunia.
and a very pretty one too.
