How to improve this kind of picture? This airplane was flying really high, it was taken with a 400mm lens. Sky was really blue and clear. I had to tweak with levels to make the airplane more easy to view, since it had a blueish color that was hard to separate from the sky. My question is, how to shot something like this avoiding this blue haze or tone on the airplane? Does it take a ploarizer filter maybe? Thanks!

A polarizer should help, but it won't work miracles. At that distance, there is, even in seemingly very clear air, quite a bit of haze in the atmosphere. It is also difficult to meter on an airplane, unless you have a very small spot for spot metering. Your effort is not at all bad.
