Hi again Forum Friends

As per the "cliff choice" topic / post I've just added - I am very keen and interested to have your comments regarding preferences (yes, yours!) between these two photos.

These two photos are of the same subject, that is: a lighthouse standing proudly on a crop of land beneath a (imho) quite powerful cloudy evening sky.

Photo 1. (taken as I approached the lighthouse in my car, with a few bends / curves of the road ahead before I reached the car park at the base of the lighthouse). Camera: Canon 350D, lens: Canon 28-135mm lens at 109mm, aperture f11.

And Photo 2.

This photo was taken just a few minutes later, (when I had arrived at the lighthouse car park) but on this occasion with a different lens: Sigma 10-20mm lens at 20mm, aperture f11 again.

What do you think? Your honest opinions and reasons why will be greatly appreciated!

Thanking you all!

Paul

#2....as it has the feel of "watching over its domain", and as an added bonus, you caught the wind vane perfectly positioned!

I should say I liked the foreground with the winding road to the 'lovely destination' in #1 : )The corner of the winding roadon the right could be included though. Still, it might be the sealine dividing the frame right from the middle, which makes usobserve the lighthouse from almost from the middle, not quite complimentingthe scene .The lighthouse in #2 has a more impressive look thanks to the point of view aseddie and waterwings mentioned above.

I like #2 a lot better.

as bahadir pointed out, the sea line that divides the picture is too strong for me.
