You have a great shot...Really good DOF and color...The composition is nice to...
Next time, spritz it with water so you have the droplets on the leaves and the flower...That adds a little to the shot...

Adding water drops can help with the pictures as well. Also another thing that you may want to try is to put a dark clothe or something in the background to make the flower pop out more. On your image the background is not bad, it is good and it works.

Thanks for looking and the comments.
This was taken of a new fresh flower that had just reached full bloom.
I have tried the water spray and sometimes like it sometimes not.
The dark cloth background may be interesting.

Thanks again.

I think something's up with the forums, none of the "attached" pictures are displaying (anywhere) but ones that are linked with IMG tags do display...

Edit:
Reported to Admins, they say they're working on the issue.

I like this one even better.
A-700/SAL70-400mmG, straight from camera with no pp of any kind. Only re-sized for posting.

I like the second one better than your first one. I thought the first one was a bit too soft for my taste, but otherwise was an excellent shot. I'm sure that there are those who will say that the second one has too much unnecessary green around it, that it should be cropped more like the first one, or that the flower is a little too centered in the frame, but I like it the way it is. It's such a spectacular flower, and I like the back-lighting.
