I voted 'average' on this one. The biggest issue to me is the head and body just aren't sharp enough. Of secondary concern is the flower at the bottom right obscuring the wing. It's a big distraction from your subject. The bokeh is pleasant and exposure is pretty good but those two negatives keep this from being a good image IMO.

Thanks John. I got your message. Yes, the body is OOF, which could have been corrected by setting right DOF. Actually i was attempting to draw attention on the eyes hence the body bot little blurred.

How owuld you rate this one? It isn't OOF like the other one.

Sorry I was referring to the upper body by the head. Neither that nor the head are in sharp focus.

If you want to draw attention to the eyes of such a creature I would suggest investing in a macro lens which will allow you to focus much closer so you can get sharper results AND fill more of the frame with your subject (the eye).

Still not in sharp focus. What lens are you using?

Sigma 70-300 on Nikon D-60. I recently got a close-up/macro lens kit of Camray (not sure how reputed this make is). Those butterflies I shot were with +4 Close-up lens from the pack of four close-up/macro lenses.

Thanks John for your guidance.
