Default Simplicity

Hi everyone

During a walk today (lovely sunny day) this was one photo I took today. Simply a head of a grass against a dark grassy background in the shade.

Does this photo strike anyone as interesting or appealing?

Looking forward to your comments.

Paul

Now thats a nice shot. Something I might hang up, perhaps in the kitchen. Looks like a chaff of wheat. Nice complimentary background. And your focus is spot on. Whats not to like about this.

Yes, I agree, but, it would greatly benefit from a border and frame, to give it more breathing space. Presently it looks squashed in the frame, but necessarily so....

Hi Bynx

Thanks for your comments old friend. Always appreciated. Yes, that's what I thought too, the grass head looks somewhat a chaff of wheat. I guess it tastes different though!

I also thank you for your thoughts. Actually I cropped the photo so the subject fits closer in the composition. I'm interested though what take you would have on a border and frame. Please feel free to edit and add a border to it.

Cheers!

Paul

Raised in the land of goddesses, that image reminded me of one of the symbols of Demeter : ) I think selecting the ear for some saturation and sharpening and then selecting the inverse for a Roman royal blue would make sense. Sorry for the quick edit, I believe you could do a lot better with the original. As for the frame, you can easily make one around the frame using the rectengular Marquee tool, afterwards filling it in with a colour you'd chose with the colour picker and finally finishing up with the lens blur. Hope the idea works for you : )
