Default Decay:

Not much going on in here tonight, so I thought I might just liven things up a bit.....

Went scouting for photo-opportunities along the river the other day, and found these old, rotting and broken up poles sticking up from the water - remnescents of an old disused ferry-dock in full decay. I found this quite puzzeling to shoot, as the sun was pretty sharp, casting harsh shadows.

I was intrigued by the motive, but at the same time a bit uneasy as to how to picture it - Mind you, I didn't have much choice in trying out different compositions as there was water on 3 sides.

This view here was really the only one possible without getting my feet wet!!!
After all, there is a limit to what I do to get a good picture....

Does this work as a photo? Or is it just 'kitch'?

Curious about my photography?
You may look up my small portfolio on the Norwegian photo-forum: http://walter_s.foto.no/ - click - "LATEST" on left bottom of page.
You may then click any thumbnail to view the picture and click again on the displayed picture for an unobstructed full screen view. Enjoy!
