Default Water over the bridge

Hey everyone!

Here's a photo I took earlier today of the bridge that crosses over the Black Bayou, which runs on the edge of my property.

East Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas have had a ridiculous amount of rain lately, and today was the last straw I think. All the marshes and bayous flooded horribly today.

I walked down to the bridge, because I noticed it was impassible (though many tried anyways...)

How does this look composition wise? In hindsight I wonder if I should have had the cars and such in the background be in focus rather than the rails and reflector.

Any opinions?

So what's the significance of the post and reflector that are in focus? There is no explanation in the photo why Im supposed to be looking at them.

Yeah, that's sort of what I thought.

Furthermore, the rails sort of lead my eyes to the out of focus stuff at the end of photo, which is also confusing.

It's how it all struck me, I just wanted to get the opinions of someone else.

I wasn't really so much worried about how good the contents of the photo were, but how well the composition worked. I'm always trying to learn.

Except for the reflector and that piece of stick sticking up the photo could be a nice background for a transportation article in a magazine. I think ALMOST every photo has a use.

I find the headlights blinding, but this is a daylight shot? I realise that cars in the rain put on their lights, but this, more than other aspects of the picture are what harm the image. Obviously a matter of taste, but I would like the image more without the blinding lights - Lights which draw me to view them.
