First thing that comes to mind is the strong yellow cast, no doubt from tungsten lamps illuminating the yard. I'd be curious to see how the photo would look with some additional white balance. I'm also thinking a little additional cropping from the bottom may help to bring more attention to the ball.

Just my 2 cents.

There was very little natural light and the yellow is from high pressure sodium lighting. I like the color effect and the depth of field effect of the ground.

I did it for these effects.

Should I have done something else to make it look cooler?

Hi itsme000, Really like the pic. I like the wierd colours. I know nothing about phtography so take no notice of me what so ever. I cropped your pic and fumbled around to get rid of the fencing etc. I like it like this. croped to this side so as to keep the shaddow in although I naturally felt a wanting to crop to the other side. Just some drivel and imput from me. hope you dont mind the croping etc. Is it a tiny Golf ball that you have made to look Hugeeeeee. regards mark
