Default Roomie Headshot

After weeks of rain (and more to come soon *gag*) I made it a point to take at least a few photos today.

I dragged one of my lovely roommates outside for a few photos.

I chose to make it a Sepia photo, did I pull off the effect ok?

I know it's not the most interesting or unique headshot/portrait/whatever, but that's why I posted it here! I'd love to get some pointers and suggestions!

Any other suggestions or critiques?

Thanks for looking!

The background is very distracting.

Ok, is this one better, or does it look unnatural?

i am distracted by the weird smearing down the left (as we are facing) side of the neck, its in both photos.

i think you could help the background out with some vignette, or some kind of gradient darkening to put the focus on the model.

adding some contrast to her would work as well to emphasize the eyes and her lovely cheekbones.

not sure, but i feel like it could be a little closer-up and get more focus on the face, or back out a little and get at least a little bit of bone structure in the collarbone and shoulder area. i feel like right its halfway in between. but its just a gut feeling, cant be sure without comparison.

lovely model, look forward to seeing more.

thanx for sharing.

Unfortunately here too you lose all the whispy hair.

I actually quite like the original background. the gaussian blur looks a bit better on Bynx's but i don't really like it. I think the photo would look a lot better in portrait orientation (as opposed to landscape) with a bit of her upper body in the frame!

Yeah I liked the background myself, but I agree that it would have been better in a portrait form.
