Default Fungi

Image taken back in September. Any suggestions for improvement either in the capture or post processing will be appreciated.

Pentax K200D, 50-200mm lens, at 105mm. Programme Mode, White Balance Auto, ISO 100, 1/200 sec.

Regards

Did you use a flash at all? IMHO I would use some fill light on the tree and also try to get the brightness down a little on the top of the large shroom.

Even changing the brightness and shadows, I see two problems:
1. The camera is too close and the big fungus is out of focus. You need some more depth of field.
2. The bottom fungus is in the limit of the pick. Need some air there.

That's why it caught my eye as I was passing by. It (They ?) seemed to have a different shape than ones I've seen before.
