I used to think that about Linux. Until I tried to install Windows with a LEGAL disk and M$ said I'd "hit my limit". I used a pirated copy of Windows to search for and find an alternative. That alternative being Linux. I installed it, learned about it and FROM it, and never looked back at the Windows-is-the-only-thing-in-entire-universe-that-I'm-capable-of-using mentality. I threw THAT crutch away. I suppose if you're brainwashed long enough and hard enough, you'll believe anything, though.

I mainly use Linux because I am a programmer by profession. I like to actually have control of my system and know that each component is running under my terms.
