mtn gal said my thoughts...

But you should know that the pix was slow loading on my computer tonight (slow connection..) But as it loaded from the top down...about half way...a huge smile broke across my lips.......I loved it...awesome simply awesome.

All the comments were very good and enlightening....thanks so much for posting and the others for the info...

thank you very much. "high-key" is usually a portrait term. however, yes, that was the basic idea. to have much of the frame nearly white to emphasize the snow and then have the big contrast with the bricks and the buildings. bynx made a nice comparison with lithographs, which i think is apt for the first shot.
