Just wondering what some real photgraphers think.
Thanks for sharing.

its really a pretty good shot.

you used the rocks as a nice foreground element, the colors are pleasing.

i dont particularly like the rock in the lower left hand corner, it really catches my eye and keeps it there, and not in a good way. it is just too big and bright. maybe taking a step or two to the right would have solved this and also let that longer darker rock lead you into the scene.

still, overall, its a good first submission, thanks for sharing.

I wouldn't call myself a "real photographer" by any stretch... just enthusiatic but, I agree with Hards80. Everything's cool but that rock.

Thank you both. I took that photo a couple of years ago, when exposure was more of a concern to me then composition.

The rock does not bother me. I like the color and wonderful DOF.
The only thing that bothers me is that thing sticking out on the left on the water. Is it a boat?

Yes it is a boat. Did not notice it till you pointed it out.
Here it is with no boat

Really a great shot - I like the stones in the foreground, the big one on the left doesn't bother me at all. The boat on the right gives it something to catch my eye, but the boat on the left was a bit distracting - it looks better without it!

Great shot

I like the picture, it's very pleasant to look at. It does look better without the bit of boat on the left, and I can see why it would be stronger with the composition that Hards suggested. But that's not a reason to get rid of this one, because this one is still a picture I could enjoy staring at when I want to take a break.
