Default How's business?

Took this at a cafe at the end of the pier in our city. Suggestions for improvement are welcome.

I rather like this image. For me it evokes a nice sense of Americana. My only complaint is the first stool cut off a little awkwardly, but i realize there is probably another stool there that is close enough that you would have to cut off one or the other. if there was an old man sitting at the end drinking some coffee over eggs/bacon, that may have been nice too, but you can't control everything. still, i rather like it.

i tried a lil something, not sure if i like it.

I really like this composition for it's leading lines (stools and silverware wrapped knapkins), pattern and color. My only preference would have been to increase the depth of field and there by have all the stools and napkins in sharp focus.

I like it...I love the retro look establishments, reminds me of my youth. I would love to be there with a coffee and a piece of pie.

cheers

Hmmm, It is good to see this type of image with out the usual shallow DOF. I do agree with jelpee, that increasing it a tad would ''likely'' help, but not sure it really matters. The selective color is great and normally I am not a fan of it.. The only two things that bother me are

The cut off stool in the forefront. Not sure if anything could have been done there. Perhaps cropping it closer to the post of the stool?

The other thing, is I would have liked to have seen a tad more room up at the top so the end napkin holder would not be cropped as well. At the same time, i am glad you kept the last salt shaker in tact.

Not sure I am any help, but to my untrained eye, that Is all I see.

Like the shot, but how did you get that place empty? Have never seen that place empty since is first opened.

Hards80, I like the desaturation treatment.

Calicajun, it was fairly early this morning. However, as you know, the prime seats are in the booths near the windows that afford views of the ocean. Few people choose to sit at the counter (facing away from the windows) unless all other seats are taken.

jelpee, I thought afterward about shooting with more DOF. However, I had just been outside on the pier shooting surfers in a contest and didn't think to change the settings. I did shoot at f/7, which I thought should have been enough.
