Default Which Way Is Up?

This picture is just for a laugh, really. What do you think?

It's not completely an optical illusion, but someone else pointed out that it was close, when they looked at it. I wondered if anyone else sees it that way or do you instantly know which way is up when you look at it.

Thats pretty good. Nice optical illusion. Its the leaf and the book resting against the wrong wall that gives it away.

I didn't notice the leaf - good idea to clone it out. The book gives it away in any case. The funny thing was that I didn't even notice that the picture could be interpreted that way (looking down) until someone else pointed it out. What I actually saw was a perfectly nice bench and a guy who walked up, put his stuff down and then ignored the bench in favor of putting his feet up. It just struck me as funny - the empty bench next to him. and him laying on the ground. I didn't get that shot as I only had a long lens with me and couldn't get all of the bench with him in the picture also. I took what I could of the scene and never thought about how you could look at the picture until someone else pointed it out, and then I thought this one was a good choice for exploring that idea.

Cool picture. I was fooled until I read shoturtle's comment. What does that say about me?

Alasdair - it means that you, like me, didn't notice the leaf right off.

Thanks for the complements - I really enjoy good street photography, but find most of my shots are lacking something - framing off, dof problems, having the wrong lens on the camera etc. I liked this one, in spite of the fact that I didn't get the shot I wanted to get. Flowers are much easier to photograph...
