Default Heron----Please comment

Hi all
here is one of my pictures please be gentle with me....oh what the heck give it to me i need to learn....

well, there is really just too much deadspace here on both sides, next time zoom in more for a tighter crop. in general you also would want the animal facing into the frame as well. otherwise, just needed a little work to increase the contrast and tone down the highlights a little.

i would go with the rule of thirds on this one.

in general yes. but with the flat backdrop here and really no view for the bird to be looking into if you were to say place it on the left 1/3, i think for this particular shot, just crop it close as the background doesn't add much

hards80 crop looks right for this shot the small black border adds too a nice pleasant shot
