Default Very subtle winter-scene:

- This is a different winter-picture with very, very subtle colors.

- The reason I shot this scene was definitely NOT color, but the light. It's all in the light.....

- I know that I probably should have made a B&W instead, but I fell in love with the small nuances of what color there is.

How does it stand up to expert-criticisme?

I think this photo would best be viewed within the "Dark Theme" - all the way down to the left hand side of this page - click on the "Quick Style Chooser". Try it.

You may look up my small portfolio on the Norwegian photo-forum: http://walter_s.foto.no/ - click - "LATEST" on left bottom of page.
You may then click any thumbnail to view the picture and click again on the displayed picture for an unobstructed full screen view. Enjoy!

This is really a marvelous image Walter. One of the best posted on this board. I'm impressed.

(As for my critique, I think there's a one pixel error on the extreme left, or is that dust on my monitor?)

This is close to perfection Walter. Really nice and different. Impossible not to fall in love with this scenery.
If you stand one only critics is the subtle but visible quarter circle retouching over the tree.
Chato: no pixel errors in my monitor.

I like it a lot.

Pretty as a picture painting that Id hang on my wall.

Actually, if it just had a touch of color, it would make POTD

Keep up the outstanding work!

This is not a "Steves's Digicams" pick. It's Walter S pick.

Great shot Walter. Your exposure is perfect. I do notice gray blotchiness from overdone HDR.

Outstanding! It's one of my favourites of all your posts. I simply love it just as it is and echo the statement that it should be framed and on display! Thx for sharing.

this is a great subtle winter-scene walter. if desolation and cold was the mood you were going for, you really got me.

i have 1 small nitpick that i think you can fix easily. on the right side, around the tree, there is a distinct circle. its almost if you used a hard edge dodging tool or something.

Walter,

I really like the feeling the first shots send, very peaceful.

Very nice. Ditto on what Hards80 says. Look real hard at the foreground snow. I see white and grey spots that should not be there. Very faint, but otherwise a very groovy photo...
