ill take a guess and say hes used a black background like a pice of black card or cloth

These are just beautiful!!! Really are. Love the use of black as your background to highlight your subject... wonderful colour. My only suggestion would be to leave a little more room on both sides of the second photo AS you did on the first. Really superb! Thanks.

While your images don't remind me of a ballerina, they, none the less, are quite pleasing to the eye. I like your use of a black background to bring out and accentuate the form, color and resolution of the subject.

My preference is the 2nd image: A simple image of a single flower that, when properly presented becomes a beautiful piece of work worthy of display.

I also agree with the earlier comment made that a little less cropping on the left and right would improve the symmetry.

Eddie,
Did you use a black cloth and masking for the background or maybe a green/blue screen ?
