I like the shot a lot, how close were you to the deer? what lens did you use?

It looks like the focus is set to the grass and not the deer ?

I'm pleased you were brave enough to post. I like the composition on this photo and the framing works well.

Did you post a photo larger than 1024 pixels on the longest size as this will really reduce the quality from the original and this has the look of what happens when the software here does a resize for you. If that's not the case then possibly it is that you've cropped the image too much or there is something else in the PP (post production - editing) process.

None the less, a good start. What did you shoot this with?

Well i have pentax k-x

I was using my 50-200 lens and was about about 60-70 feet away or so in Valley forge park in PA....any closer and the deer seem to get spooked a little

You may be right nmrecording i was just trying to shoot them before the notice me or took off so it possible the focus was on the grass

yes the imagae is cropped because there was alot of grass and empty space on both sides which i did with a simple program

So Mark is there a photo or pixel size you should shoot for for best results?? like i said I am new so I just cropped to bring the deer in and remove alot of grass??

thanks again
