I am an Orton effect fan. Love the conversion.

Walter.....thank you for your very thoughtful input. Its replies like this, that keeps me checking in. Life would be such a bore, if we all had the same likes, I dare say nothing new would ever happen......
The effect I was hoping for was muted, like I was trying to "date" the shot, before neon and stuff, more along the lines of how they use to paint during the impressionist era. Lighting back then was not harsh, often by oil lamp or candle, shadows played a big part of their reality and it showed in their art.
I don't know if I accomplished it, but I know I sure love fooling around with different stuff, its what keeps this media so interesting, if you ask me. Get complacent, so will your results....
Again Walter, love what you shared and what you did, it really helps me to expand what I love doing!

I tried with this shot as well, I got some hotness on some of the petals, but I believe I get more subtle detail with this sort of light. Please feel free to edit it as you see fit.
