Default First Ortton

At this point I'm almost blind trying to succesfully apply the Ortton effect to this pick in PE8. What do you see? How can I improve it? Thanks!

it looks right to me. has the soft glow, but retains good detail and shows the trademark saturation. one thing i like to do is to apply unsharp mask to the sharp copy, but make sure you have already duplicated it for the out of focus layer first.

This is very good -- I'd say as good as Orton effect gets. I like it.

Applied unsharp mask to both the sharp layer and the Ortton pick and cropped and clonned the poor persons, and etc. Big version here:

This is really nice. I've tried this a couple of times but can't get it right. I suspect I'm choosing the wrong picture to start with. But this picture is really nice, it makes me want to try it again.
