Default Autumn in the Adelaide Hills

Hello all

Last month a friend (Sam) and I went into the Adelaide Hills (in South Australia) on a Saturday- to do some photography.

While we might have missed the 'peak autumn (fall) colours' by a few weeks, we still enjoyed what was available - and here are a few I was reasonably happy with.

I would appreciate any comments on these:

Typical hill side setting (this photo was taken from up a tree that I climbed!)

--------------------------------------------------------------

Misty morning (one of my first photos of the day)

--------------------------------------------------------------

I believe these are a stone fruit tree - not sure which one (peach, apricot, or maybe mini-cherry?) - but whatever type - I loved the way that the sun caught the colour of the leaves!

--------------------------------------------------------------

Rose macro - do you think this crop works?

--------------------------------------------------------------

Looking forward to your critique!

Paul

Not much to critique here.

I like each shot. But the smoke in #1 I like particularly. It gives some life to the shot.

I love the rose photo. The amazing pinkish/orange of the center just doesn't let your eyes go anywhere else except right to it. In my opinion the crop works very well, and a very nice photo.

Hi Paul, I like the first one as well. I like the smoke, and I like the way the crops are at angles with each other. Good shots all.

Hi Ordo!

Great to hear. I'll have to try to post more, and hoping you'll like what you see then too! :-)

Cheers,

Paul

Very kind of you, lomitamike!

Maybe if I take worse photos or do a bad job on any post-processing / cropping.. then I can keep you busy! Thanks again.

Hey Bynx,

thank you for your courteous comments.

Indeed, the smoke also made me appreciative of the scene too.

Hello tswen

It's great to get the detailed feedback on this rose photo. I was not sure what to do with it (as there were a few bottom petals that really were too blemished to look 'nice' and too difficult to clone / 'fix').

So I tried this crop and was glad it seemed to work, but I wanted to post for people to comment - and you helped me with that.

The colour is also one of my favourite from roses. (I'm not a huge rose fan - I only have 1 in my garden - I'm more into native (Australian) plants). However if I ever buy a rose, I would like to get this sort of colour - I prefer it over the deep reds, or bright yellows or whites of roses.

Thanks again.

Paul
