I like #1 a lot with the low angle so you can see the underside of the petals. The use of dof is nice with the increasingly blurred flowers repeated all the way back.

There's a few problems with #2 in my opinion - I'd crop it square to remove the dead space on either side and a slight change of angle would avoid the two buds lining up like they have. The laurel background isn't as nice as the background in #1

Thanks Martin for you interesting comments. I agree with your suggestion re #2. I'll have another go.

A few more taken this morning. I have improved the angles Martin! But still not happy with overall composition.
