Hi dreamz_mak

The photos show the varied colours and various shapes of the flowers. Maybe one reason why no one commented (till now) - is that most of the shots are not critically sharp where they might (or 'should be') expected to be.

Photo 1 and photo 5 particularly appear soft (to me). At the same time it IS difficult to get such 3-dimensional flowers sharp in an entire photo, while still having a sufficiently blurred background. Photo 4 particularly (with a big, very 3 dimensional flower like that is difficult).

Photo 2 is my favourite of this series, the depth of field 'works' the most for me. I'm not saying these are 'bad' photos, but maybe some people are too polite to say it's more 'average'. I don't want to discourage you either!

Do keep trying, also different angles and apertures. I've certainly got learning to do in the flowers / macro world too! (I'm not sure if you used a tripod - that can help at times).

Thanks.

Paul

I'll warn you, i have a bit of a harsh critiquing style...

all the shots are out of focus. 1 and 5 being the worst.
The lighting in all the shots make it look too flat.
#1's flower is totally out of focus. as much as the the background.
#2's flower is too dark, loosing a lot of detail in the middle.
#3's DOF is too small IMO, just the very tip of the flower is sharp.
#4 is cropped oddly, and just doesn't really do anything for me.
#5, good idea, but also out of focus.

Also, keep in mind that this time of year, the forum often lacks activity due to the weather and summer lifestyles.

In the critique section, it's better to post just one picture for critiquing. leave the photo sets for the other forum sections.
