Default What's up with the orange line??

Hey guys,

Once in a while when I use my SB-800 flash I see a thin orange line in front of my dog's eyes (one in front of each eye). Are they the light bouncing off a vein in his eyes (in this photo his right eye only)? Here's an example...

Flash head was positioned at the 45 degree bend with the built-in white reflector card out.

With the flash head pointed straight up or 90 degrees I don't think I've ever noticed the "orange line" in front of his pupil (s).

Perhaps it IS the light bouncing off his veins. Not sure if it has to do with his age (turning 13). Or maybe his eyes or more irritated lately by dust. His left eye is very red. Needs some Visine. So on his left eye the veins are obvious towards his nose.
