Humming bird crops

4 Attachment(s)
I have been shooting humming birds at the feeder and have been trying to figure out the best crop while trying to edit out as much feeder as possible.

Some times they hoover far enough away but for the times they don't I would appreciate you thoughts on cropping with the feeder. Maybe sharing your techniques.

Thank you for any replies.

First is the uncropped version with different crops following.

very nice they must be hard ass shots as for the slight noise due to the crop it is easily fixed on the back ground

I too have tried to shoot these birds. Very, very nice work.

Thank you flutelady, Bynx and pboerger

These shots required about 20 minutes of standing next to my tripod, ISO 800 ( notice the noise) and a lot of luck. F/ 2.8 was an option but the DOF would have been to thin, so f/4 and higher ISO seem to be just about right..

These tiny birds are extremely difficult but very rewarding to capture in flight.
Thanks for all your replies.
