Looks like a good day of catching birds.

great subject.
But something just doesn't look right with the cropping. maybe more of a panoramic/landscape oriented crop would be better? I just can't put my finger on it.

i think its an interesting subject. but i think there may be a bit too much water in the foreground.

also, there seems to be some ghosting around the higher contrast areas of the ship. especially the left side of the ship, and on some areas of the outriggers that deploy the nets.

Hi John,
I like the pic a lot but also would like to see less water, It's a great subject, I see it as an oldey warm type feel to it so I had a go cropped it and sepia toned and added some to the sky. That's how I see it. Just my opinion, and what do i know.
Great capture .

Great suggestions - I agree about too much water. Dustin - good catch on the ghosting - I'll have to try and work on that. I also think the sepia works.

Love the shot. I do prefer the panoramic composition, too much water. Mono conversion suits perfectly

I've seen this shot for real during my many visits to HHI!

Nice capture with exceptions already noted. A lttile wider so the booms were not at the edge of the image would have been nice too.
My old stomping grounds where I grew up. Going that way in Oct for a class reunion.
