Default Shed

Hi Chums,
I saw this shed yesterday and thought it could be good, Not sure if what I have done worked for it or not. My initial thoughts was to have it smaller off set with more of the roof tiles n contrast, and to see more of the side of the shed. The lighting and my location on the road preventing me from getting what I was seeing in my head so I went with this more central composition.
I used sepia, orton and curves on it. Any thoughts..
Cheers Chums.
Mark

Hi Bynx,
Thanks for that. Sounds like it don't look right. The original had all the detail but I thought it was boring, I just liked it a bit coarser and bleached out, deliberately loosing the detail for a old print feel/look. but sounds like it just looks like a bad print.
Much appreciated, great to get any feedback it helps a bundle with the learning curve. Reckon I haven't got to the curve bit, it's gona be a long road.
I just plastered a wall on a 600 year old barn, left some stones showing in the wall. I really like it. 6 peps didn't like it at all, 2 thought it was rustic and 2 thought it lurrrrvely and in keeping with the old barn. Reckon that means either
A I got bad taste judging by the general pop of the village.
B The village has bad taste due to years of inbreeding.
or
c I need to stop dragging people in to look at my plastering.
Answers on a postcard.
Cheers Chums.

The only advice I can give is for you to look at your final pictures before you post them. If you really like them yourself then post them. I wouldnt rely on people here making the decision for you as to whether you like it or not. If you dont like it yourself, then dont post it. In the end its your picture and only you have to like it.
As for the barn plastering, who did you have to please? Was the guy who paid for it pleased? He is the only one that matters. And before you started was it clear what he wanted you to do -- like leaving some stones showing or not?

Hi Bynx,
Thank you,.I like the pic and am just trying out some different things really. I see what your saying. I only post the pics I like but sometimes i think it can be hard to view my own pic the same as I would view someone elses. and it's nice to know when you try something out of your comfort zone if it fits ok with others and if its going in the right direction.
The Guy wanted the plastering with stones showing and he was really happy with the effect, so I guess like you say thats all that matters.
Suppose we all want to do pics that are liked by others and work towards that. Thanks Bynx, Much apreciated.

This is the place to have others offer their opinions. I like the composition, but I don't like the post processing. B&W might give it the appearance of being from the 1800's, but the sepia tone is too washed out for my tastes.

I'd recommend shotting this again when the shadows are off the shed.

Yeah....you got a great subject to work with, now you need to capture it in a manner that enhances it with imagination. I might add, incorporate it with its surroundings too, as I feel all the elements I see in this frame can contribute to it, your choice of presentation subtracts their influence....
Now, about that inbreeding, you got any pixs of that?

Hey Thanks, Ideal, no imagination..
I haven't got the pics of the inbreeding, my lense fell off.
Ill give the shed another go , see if i can dodge the traffic and get the shot i wanted . If you dont hear from me again you know the traffic won.

Found another one and rubbed out the freeway. to a fashon.
This is more my usual type of composition, I feel all my pics look the same as i tend to follow the same style of compositions and want to try different things. I like the first one best as it gives me an emotion and feel deeper than the second. Maybee it's my meds again.
Cheers Everyone for the input.
