Default truck

Took this a little while back. What do you think of each cropping?

Any other critique is welcome. Let me have it.

I like #2 just the way it is.

I think #1 is just a bit too tight of a crop, I'd like to see more of the front end. Also the angle of the tire looks awkward in this one.

I'm assuming the second is just a different crop of the same picture. If so, for the angled crop, I would zoom out just a hair and put just a little less angle on it so more of the front end shows. I think this would eliminate the awkward look to the tire too.

Actually after playing around with it, I think the angle's ok, but I think it's just too tight of a crop, at least for my taste. Like I said, I'd like to see a headlight in there.

#1 would be ok if it was one of a series showing the details of the truck. #2 is a very nice shot. The body reflections are excellent. Maybe the same shot but just the truck in color or the whole picture in color and everything but the truck desaturated quite a bit so just a hint of color in the background.

here is the original:

Here is your idea Bynx:

As far as the angle and cropping of that first shot, i cant crop it any larger at that angle because of the original picture size.. oh well.

I like the second version. Its all about the truck. In the first one the green is very powerful and draws my eye too much. In fact it draws both my eyes.

My eyes are drawn to the front tire in shot #1. I agree with the others that the crop is too tight. The second shot works well. I notice some banding, if that's the right term, at the driver's door where the truck goes from sunlit to shadow - is this an artifact of the size reduction?

#2: nice shot both in bw and color. I had a déjà vu with this pick.

thank you for the critiques.

Bynx, you were right about that grass, too saturated.

jim, that banding you see, is on my original. If you actually look at the shape of the truck, there is a change of shape at that point, and with the sun being where it was, it made a weird harsh shadow... the PP made it a little worse i think too.

ordo, what are you referring to?

Don't know really. Did you posted it before? Some background cloning...?
